Analisis Cerpen Iblis Tak Pernah Mati Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma dengan Pendekatan Stalistika
Abstract
This study aims to describe the language style and stylistic elements used by Seno Gumira Ajidarma in his short story Iblis Tak Pernah Mati (The Devil Never Dies). This research employs a stylistic approach to reveal how the author utilizes linguistic elements such as diction, figurative language, imagery, tone, and moral message to emphasize moral values and social criticism toward human hypocrisy. The method used is descriptive qualitative, employing careful reading and content analysis techniques on the short story text. The results show that the author uses connotative diction as well as figurative language such as metaphor, personification, irony, and hyperbole to create reflective and satirical effects. Visual imagery strengthens the dark and gloomy atmosphere that portrays the moral decline of humankind. Through his distinctive use of language, Gumira Ajidarma asserts that true evil does not come from supernatural beings but from the human heart itself.
