Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

INSPIRAMATIKA: Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran Matematika

1. General Policy

INSPIRAMATIKA recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI), including generative AI and AI-assisted technologies, can support academic writing and research activities. The journal permits the responsible use of these technologies provided that their use does not compromise research integrity, originality, transparency, confidentiality, or publication ethics.

Authors, editors, and reviewers must comply with this policy throughout the manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication processes.

2. Use of AI by Authors

Authors may use AI tools to assist with language editing, grammar correction, translation, literature organization, and other appropriate research-support activities. However, AI tools must not replace the authors' intellectual contribution, critical judgment, or responsibility for the research.

Authors must not use AI tools to fabricate or falsify research data, generate misleading results, manipulate research images inappropriately, create false references, or misrepresent the originality of their work.

Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy, validity, originality, and appropriateness of all AI-assisted content. Authors must also ensure that the use of AI does not infringe copyright, violate privacy, or breach research confidentiality.

3. Disclosure of AI Use

Authors must disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies when these tools contribute to manuscript preparation beyond routine spelling, grammar, or punctuation correction.

The disclosure should identify the AI tool used and explain its purpose and scope of use. The statement should be included in a separate section entitled “Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Manuscript Preparation Process”, preferably before the References.

Authors may use the following statement as a template:

“During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [name of AI tool] for [specific purpose]. The author(s) reviewed, verified, and revised the AI-generated content as necessary and take full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and final content of the manuscript.”

If no such tools were used, authors may state: “The author(s) did not use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of this manuscript.”

4. AI Cannot Be an Author

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to or published in INSPIRAMATIKA. Authorship is reserved for individuals who can make intellectual contributions, approve the final manuscript, and accept accountability for the work.

5. Use of AI by Editors and Reviewers

Editors and reviewers must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and all unpublished research materials. They must not upload or share confidential manuscript content, reviewer reports, or editorial correspondence with publicly accessible AI tools or other third-party AI services without explicit authorization and appropriate safeguards.

AI tools must not replace the independent professional judgment of editors and reviewers. Editorial decisions and peer-review recommendations remain the responsibility of the individuals involved.

6. Research Integrity and Editorial Action

INSPIRAMATIKA reserves the right to request clarification or additional information regarding the use of AI in a submitted manuscript. Failure to disclose relevant AI use, fabrication of data or references, plagiarism, or other violations of publication ethics may result in rejection, requests for correction, retraction of a published article, or other appropriate editorial action, depending on the severity of the violation.

All concerns will be assessed in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and applicable scholarly publishing standards.

7. Policy Review

INSPIRAMATIKA may revise this policy in response to developments in AI technology, scholarly publishing practices, and publication ethics guidelines.
