HUBUNGAN PEMAHAMAN OPERASI BILANGAN PECAHAN DENGAN KEMAMPUAN SANTRI DALAM MENYELESAIKAN MASALAH PERHITUNGAN FARAIDH DI PONDOK PESANTREN
Abstract
This research aims to determine the relationship between understanding fractional number operations and the ability of students to solve faraidh calculation problems in Islamic boarding schools and how big the relationship is. Faraidh, as part of Islamic inheritance law which requires accurate calculations in dividing inherited assets according to the portions determined by the Shari'a. However, understanding the concept of fractional numbers is often an obstacle for students in solving this problem. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational method, involving 37 students of the Sulthon Auliya’ Islamic Boarding School as respondents. Data collection techniques used include tests, namely tests on understanding fractional number operations and tests on solving faraidh calculation problems, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using correlation techniques product moment to find out the relationship between the two variables and the coefficient of determination technique to find out the magnitude of the relationship between the two variables. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between understanding fractional number operations and students' ability to solve faraidh calculation problems of 72.2%. These findings indicate that increasing students' understanding of fractions can directly improve their ability to carry out faraidh calculations. Therefore, it is recommended that the curriculum in Islamic boarding schools emphasize teaching fractions in more depth, in order to prepare students with the skills needed in the context of applying Islamic law, especially in faraidh calculations.
