PENGARUH LITERASI MATEMATIS DAN FEAR OF MISSING OUT (FOMO) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI (HOTS) SISWA SMP NEGERI 3 PURWOKERTO

Abstract

Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), both of which can have an impact resulting in either a decrease or an increase in their HOTS. This study aims to investigate the partial and simultaneous effect of mathematical literacy and FOMO on students' HOTS. This research employed a quantitative method with an ex post facto approach. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto. The study population included students from Grades VII A to VII E, with the sample class selected using cluster random sampling; the chosen sample class is Grade VII C. Data collection techniques involve high-order thinking skills tests, mathematical literacy tests, and FOMO questionnaires. All research instruments have passed validity and reliability tests. Data testing begins with prerequisite tests, including linearity, normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests. This is followed by correlation coefficient testing and multiple linear regression analysis, followed by hypothesis testing, including partial, simultaneous, and correlation coefficient tests. The regression model obtained is yaitu . The study results indicate that mathematical literacy is 38.1%, while FOMO has an influence of 15.9%. Simultaneously, the influence of mathematical literacy and FOMO on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) is 52.7%.
