ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA KELAS VIII MTs MIFTAHUL ULUM DURIWETAN DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL KONTEKSTUAL PADA MATERI BANGUN DATAR SEGI EMPAT BERDASARKAN TEORI NOLTING
Abstract
This research aims to describe the types and causes of errors made by class VIII students at MTs Miftahul Ulum Duriwetan in solving contextual problems on rectangular plane shapes based on Nolting Theory. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, the research subjects consisted of 6 students, namely 3 students with lower group mathematical abilities and 3 students with upper group mathematical abilities. The data collection techniques used were written tests and interviews. Based on the research results, it can be seen that there are 6 types of errors made by students in terms of the mathematical ability of the lower group and the mathematical ability of the upper group based on Nolting's theory, namely: errors in reading instructions, careless errors, conceptual errors, application errors, work errors during tests and learning errors. In the lower group, the most common mistakes made by students were conceptual errors, students did not understand the concept of mathematical solutions used so that students could not solve problems according to the required procedures. Meanwhile, in the top group, students made the most mistakes, namely errors in reading instructions and carelessness, students did not understand the instructions for working on questions and were not careful in solving questions, either when writing formulas or when doing calculations.
