ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS DITINJAU DARI SISTEM ZONASI PENERIMAAN PESERTA DIDIK BARU UNTUK KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 4 PURWOKERTO
Abstract
Mathematical problem-solving ability is a fundamental skill that students must possess. This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students in the context of the New Student Admissions (PPDB) zoning system, which shows differences in ability levels across different admission pathways. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects selected were students from classes XI KHD 4 and XI KHD 5 at SMA Negeri 4 Purwokerto. A purposive sampling technique was used to select eight students, with two students from each PPDB zoning pathway. Data collection techniques included tests, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that students admitted through the zoning pathway need better mathematical problem-solving abilities, categorized at level 1. Students admitted through the affirmative pathway have moderately good abilities, categorized at level 2. Students admitted through the parental transfer pathway also have moderately good abilities, categorized at level 2. Students admitted through the achievement pathway have good abilities and are categorized at level 3.
