Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a fundamental stage in a child's development that influences the quality of their education in the future. While curriculum and educator competencies are the main focus in improving the quality of ECE, the physical environment where learning takes place also plays a crucial role that is often overlooked. The proper architectural design of ECE spaces can support children's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development by creating a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment. This article aims to examine how the integration of architectural design in ECE can enhance learning quality and support children's holistic development. The method used is descriptive qualitative through literature study analysis. This article explains the importance of design elements such as lighting, ventilation, color arrangement, and play areas in creating a conducive atmosphere for children. Additionally, the article emphasizes the need for collaboration between architects, educators, and parents in designing child-friendly educational environments. By paying attention to the right spatial design, it is hoped that a more enjoyable and effective learning experience can be created, which in turn improves the quality of ECE education.
