Abstract

This study aims to examine how the application of the Nashar method improves the mastery of nahwu and sharaf science among students at the Assalafi Al Fithrah Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya. This study was motivated by the challenges faced by students in understanding the yellow book written in classical Arabic. The difficulty in understanding the language structure directly affects the students' ability to read and interpret Islamic texts in depth and contextually. The proposed approach is the use of the Nashar method, an innovation developed in 2020, which presents nahwu and sharaf material in simple Indonesian, equipped with song-based nadhom to facilitate memorization and understanding. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data obtained through direct observation in the field, in-depth interviews with related parties, and review of relevant documents. From the findings, the application of the Nashar method shows a positive contribution to the learning process of beginner students, especially in helping them recognize sentence structures and understand word forms in learning nahwu sharaf. In addition, supporting factors such as teacher training and the use of complete books and small halaqoh models also support success. The main obstacles include low motivation of students and minimal basic skills, which require motivational strategies and method adjustments to be optimal. In conclusion, the Nashar method has great potential as a learning innovation that facilitates the process of learning nahwu sharaf for beginner students in Islamic boarding schools
