Abstract

The objective of the research were: (1) to know Indonesian language teacher’s activities in teaching Indonesian language by using cooperative learning of STAD type at the fifth graders of SDN Mertani Karanggeneng in the Academic Year of 2013/2014 and to know the fifth graders students achievement after being taught using the cooperative method of STAD type. This research was a descriptive one. The data of this research were the Indonesian teacher activities in teaching Indonesian language at the fifth graders of SDN Mertani Karanggeneng and the students, achievement in Bahasa Indonesia Indonesian course after being taught using cooperative method of STAD type. The data collection was done by using observation and questionnaire. The data analysis was done by describing the steps carried out in the teaching-learning process. The results of the research showed that learning using cooperative method of STAD type can increase the student achievement.
