Abstract

This research is to find out the observation in the school garden as an effort to increase student achievement. This research is a classroom action research with qualitative approach. The subject of this research is class X-5 SMA Negeri 1 Paciran. This research was conducted over 2 cycles where each cycle consists of a plan of action, action, observation and reflection. While the instruments used in this study is the lesson plans, tests, and observation sheets, while the data used in this research is the study of the test results data formative in the first cycle and the second cycle. The results of this study gained an average value increase student achievement of the first cycle of 67.58 into 83.58 in the second cycle, the percentage increase in student mastery of 32.26% in the first cycle to 90.32% in the second cycle. The results of this study show that: observations in the school garden can improve the planting concept and achievement of learning outcomes of students in the subjects of Biology.
